Default Sherwin-Williams YEA!!!

Ok guys just called Sherwin-Williams and found out great news. If you are looking to do a blk interior this is good. The have a camera that takes a pic of the real Lexus blk interior. The machine will mix the paint to a perfect match to the color in the picture. Then they will sell you a sprayer and I need a pint of the paint to do the door panels for $35. To do the iunterior you are looking at about $100.

this sounds like a good deal...are you going to do this? If so, could you post up pics as you go? there's several interior paint make overs...everything from vht to sem, etc. interested in seeing if there is a difference or better quality from SW.

Not sure why you would do this.... what type of paint is sherwin williams going to sell you that will be as least as good or better than SEM? They do not sell a correct vinyl/leather paint in any of their products unless they have something new that I'm unaware of? Sherwin Williams's market is home paint, SEM is automotive... I would think there's a clear choice as to who to go with that's already been proven to work well on our interiors.

SW sells good automotive paints usually but I am not sure about this idea as I have never used it on interior.

The rep there said he can mix me SEM pain by the pint and he will sell me a sprayer. The paint is SEM for leather/ Vinyl. Yes SW most of them anyways have automotive body supplies.

im still not a fan of 'painting' your interior for the purpose of changing to a color u like.

Maybe if your seats are in bad condition it is ok to try to bring them back to life but other than that I dont really like this idea very much.

*Technically* all of our interiors, well, the real leather parts, are painted from the factory. They haven't actually dyed leather since the late 80's... But that's not the point. I'm not a fan of painting interiors either, I've done it before with good results, but you lose the smell, feel, and full durability. Plus, you may be in the market for a car and come across, what looks like a 1997 DWP on "Black" SC to find out someone painted it.... Maybe not the worst thing in the world, but how many of us would buy that car? The good part about this is that you could have S-W match each different piece (center console, window trims, etc) to get the exact original scheme.

I was going to say that my car was painted with SW from a rather high-end body shop..
