hey, bleed i started collecting the items to do this mod..
and i actually took the time out to read the first post..
you stated that you needed the mounting plate, 2 mounting rings fused together in order to clear the fuel tank.. correct?
because in the picture the width of the mounting plate and the ring look the same and i cant make a split between the rings so i wanted to be sure.
thanks, Kernst
p.s:should be working on this Sunday if i get back in time from this wedding i must attend..

not sure i understand what you mean. but the mounting bracket is 2 separate pieces. the bottom piece is the square 1 and the top is the ring. they are then screwed and glue together. both top and bottom pieces are the same width side to side but front to back the square piece is much bigger then the top ring allowing space for the 4 bolts which run through the square piece and through the deck. just look closely at the pics of the mounting plate it should speak for itself. good luck brother.

I think your definitely on to something with this newer design lots of trial and error, but definitely worth a shot. The only other thing I was going to do was just somehow enclose the tank area in such a way that it seals, but still have access to the tank for any repairs and still be able to utilize all of the trunk space. I was also thinking of hole-sawing some ports in between the sub and the speakers in the deck or just get rid of the speakers and use the empty holes for ports or seal them up and re-cut to the size port tubes I want I dont know what are your thought on this?

Ok so Im thinking of going with the 8 inch 4 ohm sub to swap out the stock sub I want to keep the stock grill on. is that possible? if not and I have to remove the stock cover grill I might as well go with the 10'. Any info on what kinda amp I can use? I wanna mount it under the rear deck to save space. New to all this audio stuff lol
