you'd probably spend the same amount just getting a w58 and an oem clutch/flywheel.

(not really) haha

NOOOOOO!!! Please don't convert an origonal 5speed to auto, Hell you could likely find a member who will swap sc's with you.

I would just put the 5speed back together.

If you have the R154, why not go ahead and use it?
It's gonna be in there one way or another.

the reason i dont want to put the r154 in now is i already have a performance clutch setup and i dont want to buy another clutch just to use for a couple of months

If you are not hard on the clutch, you could probably have it broken in by the time you are ready to put the motor in.

No extra money required, you'll have a car to drive, no downtime.
It's a win, win situation.

Just finish the 5speed swap in the shell? The amount of time and money you'll be wasting making it auto or getting an auto shell, you could put into the 5 speed shell.

y dont even need to do anything really for the auto to work in the 5speed shell. remove the clutch pedel and all lines . use the original brake setup. and as far as wireing i have a 1jzgte with its harness and ecu. so replace the 5speed ecu with the 1jzgte auto and extendthe harness 26 to 28 inches. only thing that might not work after the swap without fixing is the rpm gauge.. quick fix run a aftermarket rpm gauge as i am doing.. the body i have for the 5speed is great no rust at all and for me being in NH thats the biggest plus ever. got the swap started will post pics asap
