Default Did I Get Lucky, Or?

Did W58's on Kouki SC's come with a shorter shifter vs the older W58?

I was installing my IS steering wheel on my 97 and decided to jack the **** from my 93. That was when I noticed that the **** was shorter on my 97 vs my 93. Therefore, did my 97 SC come with a short shifter (after market) or do all Kouki SC's have are shorter shifter.

I don't know about the length but the throw of the 95+ compared to 92-94 W58 are shorter.

Btw, considering there are three variants to first generation SC's, chuki and kouki must have shorter throw/length to their W58 shifter.

**To those who don't speak Japanese or know the terminologies, zenki: original version(prior to minor change)/chuki: second version(after minor change)/kouki: last version(after minor change of the prior). Hence, 92-94(zenki), 95-96(chuki), 97-00(kouki). Hope that made sense.

And yes, you are lucky considering you have a manual 97.

Ki stands for period. Zen means prior, chu means middle, kou means after.

It's because of the tripod shifter design that the 95+ w58's have, it is shorter than the goose neck or dog leg or bent leg whatever ya call it design that the 92-94 had.

It's a little taller with the RAZO **** vs oem. The RAZO does not screw all the way in on 97 like on 93 shifter, but it's actually still pretty low compared to the zenki.
