Default 2005 mustang vs sc300

i ran my friend last night but i missed third but up until then it was pretty even. who do u think might win? i have a sc300 5spd with a catback single exhaust, stance coilovers, and 08 350z rims. he has v6 2005 mustang with an axel back and 18inch rims. i believe the mustang is rated at 200hp and 225tq and the sc is 225hp and 200tq? and the weight difference in almost the same.

if weight is the same, on paper id say u would have the upper hand but since theres not a big difference in power it comes down to the driver more than anything

Was your car always a stick or did you swap it ? The auto rear diff has a pretty deep ratio that would give you an advantage off the line but you might run out of gear on the top end.

I think you have missed the point.

The SC300 is not a drag racer; it's a sporty luxury car. The Mustang can't compare to the SC300 - even if it edges it out in a race.

dont lower yourself to his level, Lexus and Mustang should never be mentioned in the same sentance and should never be compared.

I drove a late 90s v6 mustang and it was really slow I thought. Seemed like just an average sedan to me.

^^^cheez not sure , from the best of my knowledge niether are very fast , of course ill be rooting for you if you decide to go again with this so called friend.

I think since the sc has a bit more hp it should be a bit faster.

Good luck

The Mustang would win.

To the people in here with the elitist Lexus attitude, grow up. Seriously, this kid's driving a 20 year Old Lexus that has less creature comforts and options, and would have cost significantly less than the Mustang when last purchased. I swear, most of you jokers cross over from POS Hondas or 240s and you think the L on the trunk puts you into a whole new world of class.

No. You bought an old *** Lexus. It doesn't make you cool. It doesn't look money. You're idiots for thinking it. It's not like a Vintage Bentley or something. It's a dime-a-dozen car that can (and is being) scooped up by ricer kids, ghetto bangers, and white trash.

****, I never want to sell my SC. I've had it for 7 years, but every now and then I want to just so I can't be associated with a chunk of other SC owners on this board.

*Disclaimer: I'm making generalizations. I'm not implying that everyone on here is like this.

The weight is not the same by the way... your car weighs 1000 lbs more and only probably puts 160-70 at the wheels. I dynoed mine with just a catback and a bfi and i only put down 160, i am however an auto.

the mustang probably puts down the same hp but will and should SMASH you.
