Future Sc300 Owner - deal?
I have been looking at a 1993 Sc300. The car has 165,000 but the engine and Transmission are in very good shape. The damage is mostly cosmetic. The climate control is black and a few of the needles are burnt out. This is a normal problem I guess. The drivers seat is worn but the interior is good besides that. The outside has a few issues, There is one dent on the back fender, the paint is flaking on the rear bumper from and accident and the front bumper is cracked at the bottom. The front left headlight is also fogged up. He wants two grand. I was wondering what you guys think about it. Thanks for the help

That sounds...Reasonable... 160k miles is high but these care kind of last forever. I'd wager leather and bumper repair could end up costing you around a thousand dollars, based on my experience (but I could be wrong). I see it's an Arizona car. Was it garage kept? I'd make sure to inspect ALL the rubber components and make sure they aren't cracking. Those are a ***** to repair and replace.
I'd try to haggle it down a hundred bucks or so.

The current owner told me that he has had it for the last 45,000 miles. It was Cali owned by an older gentleman before that. He had a stack of maintenance records that he received when he purchased it.

Where are those noobs preaching that they could get better deals all day!?
On a serious note, I think the price is justified from condition of the vehicle. If you are set on getting a 92-94 body style, try to look for a 95-96 as they have the same body style but with nice small upgrades. You can learn more through posted stickies as well as searching different model years on this great forum. GL!

Just know how much your going to spend getting it to look good again...There are pretty good condition cars to be had for a little bit more money...maybe its worth the wait to save in order to get a better condition car? Or if your about to drop money into it on paint and body work and interior anyway go for it... I like to use this site it's how i found my car searchtempest.com i think. it lets you search craigslist by your location...put your location in and see if something better doesn't come up? just an idea.. I'd stay away from that one honestly..it looks neglected. I like to look at the shape the car is in..sounds kind of funny..but generally if you look at the valve stems and see if the caps are on them is a way to tell the owner at least tried to keep the car in decent shape and i can tell in that picture that one is missing? idk just my 2 cents.
