Never spray down your engine bay. I used to use WD40 and a towel and just go at it. You'll be super buff at the end as well

I half expected one of the 'washed my engine and now my car won't start' threads

The engine was running for a while after the power wash. Drove it on the highway back to the garage and left it running for a good 20 minutes while we wiped it down

Did this a couple of weeks ago to my 1UZ, and while I was VERY careful with the spray nozzle, it started and idled rough for about 20 seconds and my TRAC malfunction light was on for about 4 hours. It all went away rather quickly, but I couldn't believe how sensitive to water the engine bay was considering that I was extremely careful not to get the vulnerable areas.
