Well my interior is black from the factory but I am just trying to prep and paint my radio surround trim that has the temp ***** in it as it just has some wear spots on it.
Do any off yall put armor or anything on the dyed parts. Or just wipe it with a wet cloth?
just wipe it with some quick detail.
I noticed that the SEM works really well on leather but not so much on the harder plastics (steering column cover). I scotch brite the **** out of it and used wax/grease remover but it will still come off if I scratch it. Its a great product but I wouldnt go crazy and use it for every part on the car like some have on here.
The reason that it works on leather parts and not plastic has to do with the adhesion in the pours of the leather. If you want it to work on plastics, use an adhesive promoter along with proper preparation. The life cycle is roughly 7 years for SEM from all of the research I've done and talking to upholstry shops. You will also lose the smell your car currently has (could be a good thing) and don't expect it properly penetrate carpets and the rear parcel shelf.
