Tanabe NF210 ride height issue(s)
Hey everyone,
This winter I did a total suspension R&R on my car, and as part of that I lowered it on a set of Tanabe NF210's. I bought those because everything I read said it was the MILDEST drop you could get on the SC. I live in Kansas, and our roads are very crappy out here.
About two weeks ago I finally got the car running/driving and had it aligned. I used the "better Supra" specs I've seen around and went -1.0F and -1.5R. I run on 17" wheels which are F17x8+30 245/45 R17x9+35 275/40. That tire combo = the same diameter as stock.
My car has now sagged to a point where I consider it "slammed" for my area. I can JUST get my pinky in on the front, and JUST barely my thumb in on the back. Now that I've been driving it around for a couple weeks, I can't even go down the road straight without rubbing.
I'm seriously considering putting the stock spring back in, because this isn't working and I don't have the money for coilovers right now.... honestly I just want to DD the car to work!
Any ideas here? The advertised drop on the NF210's is like 1.2"F and 1"R, but when I compare the before pics to it now.... it looks like the car is lowered at least 2"F and 1.75R".
Thanks for any input.

I'm on Tanabes now and I know they shouldn't drop you like that. My rears are now 19x9.5 +35 with a 285/35/19 tire, I had to roll the rear fenders almost flat to stop the rubbing. Heres a pic of my car at stock height.
And here it is on the Tanabes.

My stock ride was the same as yours FatBrain81.
I wish my wife didnt have my digital camera or I'd take some pics.
I'm wondering if I got had on a counterfit set? I mean the box and all of the literature seemed genuine. The front is much worse than the rear, and is where I get the most rub.

I'm not so sure I'd say its like stock really. I will say for a lowering spring they have an excellent ride quality.
There are bad pictures, but here is what my car looked like when I bought it vs. now:
I guess I exagerated a little bit, I can stuff my thumb into the wheel well straight on. Either way, this isnt working out for me on these *** roads... putting the stock springs back in next week and realigning again you guys should see me riding my motorcycle around here, its like i'm doing the slalom.
I think it would be ok if I was willing to roll the fenders, but I'm not... honestly the stock didn't look that bad even though I know most of you hate it.
Expect some NF210's in the for sale section soon, in the original box and only 180 miles on them

You must have some truly craptastic roads in Kansas then. Since I put my wheels on I've been going everywhere seeing what makes me rub and what doesn't and I have never rubbed the fronts and they are the same height as stock. Before you swap the springs again you should look in to some spring rubbers, you stick them between the coils and they decrease the amount the spring compresses. I'm going to put them in my drivers side rear to stop the rubbing until I buy some coilovers.
