Rule of thumb is TASTEFUL! Don't make the car LOOK like it's owned by a 18yr old kid. ;-)
Go ahead and get some nice rims and some low pro tires, maybe tint the windows, but for gods sake slap yourself if you find yourself thinking of cherry bomb mufflers or whale tale fins. :-D

Welcome, Congrats on your 'new' SC400.
Be sure to share some pictures with us when you take some.
As far as the wheels, I would also recommend the OEM 17" Supra MKIV wheels. It would give it the update you're looking for and keeps things classy.

I doubt you need new rims.... I would throw tires on it and leave it alone. That's rare to have that car the way it is with super low miles. I know at 18 you're gonna get the mod bug, push through it man, keep the car stock, condition the leather, wax the paint and keep that rare beast clean and classy.
