SC's got shafted on standard equipment
Any of you guys get a bit irked about how many options the LS/GS has over the SC. In Canada the SC was a few thousand more than the LS but wow the options list on the GS/LS was extensive!
In my year, the LS had: (off the top of my head)
- Side Airbags
- Written Out Status Display below Guages
- Electric Seatbelts
- VSC, Stability Control
- Auto Windows Down/Up from the Keyfob
- GS 10+ Hp/TQ
- HID's
- Navigation
- One Touch Windows
I understand why they did that, doesn't make sense to invest a bunch of captial into the SC which sells in such low numbers, but Gah seriously?
I do get some solice in that my car is very rare
Just a ramble

Why do people buy an SC and then feel like they got jipped. Heck I love the body style on the SC which is why I bought it. My E500 is slammed with options but I still enjoy driving the SC400 everyday. Heck even my wife loves to drive the SC and she drives the E500 at least 200 miles a week.

3000gt VR4 was packed with goodies.. and those cars are junk.
Just because it did not have massage my *** seats or blow my **** steering wheels doesn't mean it was jipped. SC was not the car to have all the useless bells and whistles. **** breaks... And more **** you have more that will break. They went above and beyond in 92 by having an electric steering wheel... and how many people have those that are broken? lol

the LS also had 4 piston brakes!!!!!! and 2 more doors haha
but the LS weighs like 4000 lbs.... the SC would feel like ***** with another 600 pounds. well worth the absence of all those extra luxuries.

theres three complaints i have about my SC and that is the sunroof having to hold it to open it; and to close it i gotta press it twice. the trunk is tiny. lastly the door panels and how weak they are.... (maybe just me but my driver door panel was mistreated haha)

huh in my 96 i i dont have to hold the button to open the sunroof hit it once and she goes. but yeah it sucks having to push it twice to make it close. somebody please figure out how to mod the bi$#& to auto close. and yeah my biggest complaint is the door panels as well. leaky headlights suck. but i am fine without all the extra crap to break. its hard enough repairing the broken "features" the sc did come with. and honestly most of us bought this ride for the sleek sexy body style and the 2jz. aka "bullet proof drivetrain". and we are all obsessed with tweaking it anyway. so why not just add the features you are missing? diy will probably be better then factory anyway.lol i will just be happy when i can afford to have custom built door panels made to get rid the worst part of my sc from there its all butter.

I just wish i had servicable ball joints, oh and coil on plug set up. The sun roof would be nice but since i put sued up there i dont even open it. Mine is a 93 and i think it has a ton of options. I mean some cars made this year dont have auto headlights, projector lights, active suspesnion, driver preset controls, auto climate control, power and heated seats...i mean i can go on. Funny thing is i removed alot of the extra power functions. Oh my only grip is that the
SC400 NEVER CAME IN A MANUAL TRANSMISSION OPTION.....that is all

The sc is considered the sports car of the family not the luxury.
It wouldnt make sense from lexus's standpoint to give all their cars the same features, how than could they call the LS the luxury sedan when all the other cars have the same features.
They gave the GS the extra ten hp out of pity, I hate gs's and still dont know what their exact purpose is---are they a luxury sedan? Cross beetween sedan and a sports car? I dont know but they look like S$#%!!! . They can have there ten extra hp im fine with my choice.
