I picked up my 97 sc400 in oct. 2010, all original except 18" wheels with 142k I'm the 3rd owner with maintainance records. Im in the sf bay area of Cali. I paid $4500 for it. I would say it's not that great of a deal, I'd try talking him down some.

Have any of these listings you've mentioned listed any recent maintenance... time belt/water pump harmonic balancer? Add that to your final cost.

yea I just went through texas, looks roughly the same, maybe slightly cheaper but not so considering shipping cost.

well if anyone sees (or has) a clean SC for sale in Cali, let me know!

OP, it really depends on what you want out of the car. If you want a reliable daily driver that will stay mostly stock either a 300 or 400 would be fine. If you plan on doing engine work and making big power then a 300 should be your primary target. Think about what your goals and intended use for the car is before you jump on a car that ends up being not what you wanted after all.

well i have never lived in cali so cant say what car prices are like. but to me that price on the car he asked about is high. there is a manual tranny sc300 here for that price. unfortunately its gold. ralph.... just keep searching man there is always a better deal to be had no matter what state its in. look at the thread in here called extreme before and after.
the poor guy couldnt sell his clean *** white sc for 2500 so he chopped it up. i let a mint garage kept 96 silver on black sc300 slip through my fingers because i couldnt get there fast enough. it was sold to make space in some richy rich *****es garage for 1500 dollars. i wanted to cry. all original with 50k miles on it. it was shameful.
