Kind of off topic, but I can't find a thread to take off that black piece above the steering wheel column, that one that the OP polished. any help?

Information Provided by Lextech.org
Speedometer Cluster Removal
(these instructions are provided for how to remove, do NOT disassemble the cluster itself.)

Explanation:

- remove two screws at top of cluster behind small covers.
- pull black dimmer panel at bottom of cluster out towards you. It will be hard to pull. Unplug the two harness's.
- remove 4 screws around cluster.
- unplug 3 harness plugs in back of cluster.

Looks good,

You might want to consider spraying it with clear coat or something to prevent it from hazing. Might not need to but can imagine haze buildup. If you always use polish compound I can imagine it getting stuck between the cracks...
