Yes boys, this is MILES. US car, I reset the trip computer when I filled up and ran until the gas light came on.
From the responses I guess I shouldn't be complaining.. Heh

Definitely shouldn't be complaining. Also to everyone out there, this mileage is easily attainable. On a long road trip, on a full tank, I have gotten 25mpg in my brother's '97 SC400. It's all about maintaining your car properly and most importantly how you drive it. Also I have seen around this mileage in my boosted SC300 on a long highway trip. I made it from Knoxville to Memphis in one tank.

Hmm dunno if your being honest or bragging about your mileage

But 23mpg isn't that bad if you highway only. If that is city + highway then yes thats pretty damn good!!

If you do your basic maintenance you'll get good mpg. Have you tried seafoaming your car?

That's pretty good for a city and high way mix.

yeah those numbers are pretty standard...my 93 SC4 did just that, no special anything, just smart driving and you will find that the SC is quite economical.

well in my sc4 i would be lucky yo get 437 milometres with a mix of city and highway driving.

Something isnt adding up here, perhaps my car is older and is burning through way too much gas.

I havent done a tune up since I bought the car perhaps that could be an issue as well.

(EDIT) I cant get 437 miles per tank in my 1.7 litre honda.

also 437 miles=703 kilometres---if this is true that is incredible mileage.

My 98 gs400 gets 300 to a tank if Im lucky, 350 with all hwy driving at 80-90, so I guess if you were doing 60 down the highway you could do mid 400's.

Good work.

That's roughly what I get too. Sometimes less due to traffic.

Its bogus, I was getting 320 mixed until I cleaned my MAF, then it shot down to 270. Just put in a new air filter and cleaned the TB and Im at 130 at a half tank of all city driving. Never gets above 3k rpm. All tires at 37psi.

Grrrr.

Speaking of which, I think my tires are a bit low on air. That should help.

Edit: Kikcaffine, have you changed your fuel filter?

While he cleans his room, you go hit the log out button. And then don't log back in.

Your 20s won't help, but they wouldn't be doing nearly that much damage. Check your air filter first (it's easiest), then do your basic oil/plugs/wires. Check fuel filter as well. Any of those or a combination of those would contribute to really bad mileage.

Also, your gauge could be bad. How many gallons are you putting in when you top off wit half of a tank?

Quick Reply: 439.7 miles on a tank. Good? Bad?
