With my commute to work and back it's usually 90% highway 10% stop and go. My car will not start flickering the low fuel light until 400miles, she's completely stock to the filter.

But 23mpg isn't that bad if you highway only. If that is city + highway then yes thats pretty damn good!!

If you do your basic maintenance you'll get good mpg. Have you tried seafoaming your car?
No I havent tried seafoaming it. But I have researched it a lot and I've decided against it, because I always knew my car was maintained really well and any gains from it would be minimum. In addition any mechanic that I talked to said that seafoaming might work immediately, but due to the harshness of the seafoam cheminals it would cause premature wear on all my rubber parts within the engine (like seals and such)..

One thing I learned (and if any physics major can back me up on this it would be great) is that driving on the highway at 50m/ph (80km/ph) dramatically reduces the amount of fuel your car uses than at 60 m/ph (100km/ph). Saw it on tv once and they had some stats about it. So when I'm cruising on the highway in no rush I try to keep it to 50 (even though it regulates me to the slow lane ) lol.
If what I'm saying is correct then that can account for some added mileage..

If your going 50mph on the highway will get you run over and I live in a small city.

That said your driving style can certainly increase MPG, IE being lazy on the gas and letting the car slowly pick up speed.

^ ya I'd say we have a terrible city of drivers, so 50 on the highway is nothing new..

So I refueled at the same station, and reset to odometer. This time I'm driving a little more aggressively and with the ECT on a lot more. I'll let you guys know how much I get this time. Right now I'm about 3/5 through and +3XX miles..

That is crazy mileage, I have a 98 with 94k Miles, and only get about 340 to a tank. My car runs beautifully but may be time for a spark plug change (not sure last time they were done).

You guys know if there is any difference from the LS400 to the Sc400? My '92 LS400 I drove 500 miles to Chicago on 1 tank all highway. My '97 SC400 I drive mainly highways and I get like 350 to a tank. That's a major difference but what is different? ECU tuning?

It must be that (B.C.) Canadian air. Don't forget to watch the game tonight.

I just drove from Ohio to California in a 1997 sc300 w/ 123xxx miles and I got 400-450 to the tank. I was really surprised. Completely stock with 205/60/16 tires.

92 sc400 here. Went about 400 miles to LA and used 17.5 gallons, so around 23 mpg highway. I'm sure its alot worse in the city.

Haha aah yes, the SC must love that fresh BC air

Oh I did watch that game, and yesterdays as well. Embarrassing
Oh well, so far the EA Sports simulator is dead on, they said all the home teams would win, so Canucks in 7, LOL!

FYI:
Gas light came on on my way to work today, got to work with 429.2 MILES this time, so for those of you who are wondering, my findings are reliable.
Although I am a bit suprised that I got almost exact results given that I drove more aggresively and a lot with the ECT on..
