439.7 miles on a tank. Good? Bad?

440 miles = 700kms
on a ~75L tank (or 20US Gallons)
10.7L per 100kms is the fuel consumption then - which is not too bad.. better than the so called rated average at time of selling the vehicle..
or 22MPG
Its a very decent number

i did around 430-450 miles on 91 octane fresh tune up with 240k original miles on the motor. did bay area to LA twice cruising at 75 mph.
city drivinng mid to high 300 miles a tank.
seafoamed it after the tune up and ran it in my crankcase and tank. custom intake adapter and 90 degree elbow to k&n filter behind passenger fog light.
she's almost 270k now and still moving smooth like a rolex!

I can now definitely see where you got the 440 miles number. I don't know but just recently I have approached this number. I gassed up in St.Mary, MT and commenced a hard aggressive drive up and down (track style almost) Going to the Sun Road with 4 Passengers. Drove back up through Waterton aggressively, lots of speed variation and huge elevation changes. Got back to Calgary and did a bit of city driving as well.
I ended up with 420 Miles to my full tank, which I was definitely pleased with. I think if I was driving like a sane person on a "normal" road, with good alignment (need to get that done) I could definitely get to the 450 mark. Good mileage for a big heavy V8!
Also, not to take it too off center but I traveled with 4 on this trip and no one complained about the back seat, apparently its actually quite comfortable! Go figure!
I am a 98 SC4 VVti btw.

I have been getting between 400-425 on all my road trips at of my 93 SC400. I bought her back in Dec. of last year and have logged a bit over 23,000 miles on her to date. That has been a pleasant surprise to me, Not to bad for a V8 of it's age.

id be happy getting 439 in my car i do more city driving and i can squeeze 300-350 out of my car. ill be doing 3hr highway drive so and ill have changed the fuel filter before then and just did a ton of maintenance including spark plugs wires, yadda, yadda, yadda so i would be ecstatic to see a highway improvement
edit: also have a k&n filter in my stock air box and i will be doing the BFI intake to see if it helps

Egr?
I was avg about 325 - 350 a tank with mixed driving, and the CEL on for EGR. I did an egr delete and with mixed driving hit almost every time 400 miles a tank now. This is going about 70 - 80 on the highway and about 50 everywhere else. And occasional bursts of acceleration. Dont know if I am just an exception but just my experience. I have a 96 sc300 with 220k miles.
