Default 439.7 miles on a tank. Good? Bad?

1999 SC400, 142K, 92 octane, new NGK Laser Iridium sparks, fresh oil change, properly inflated tires. I got 439.7 miles to the tank, driving about 50/50 highway and city, normal driving (not excessvely slow, not driving like I stole it).
How is that compared to other SC4 vvt-i guys? What can I do to improve it? Would a fuel addative or some sort to cleaner do anything for me?

Add an intake and new exhaust with headers.

^ ya I've been contemplating the SRT Intake (not a real fan of the DIY hack-job BFI), but its damn expensive. Exhaust will be a while also. Student budget and I just blew almost $2k on my carPC..

My 92 doesn't get anywhere near that. Your gas tank must be bigger than mine. Mine ets about 270 under the same conditions. Only 79K on mine.

I do not like the SRT intake because they increase the intake piping to 3" then add a computer to compensate for the inaccurate MAF.

What I was looking into (on GS400) is to buy this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=290400047473

It is also 3" so the MAF will be inaccurate.

Then buy something like this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/97-98...s#ht_500wt_956

Cut out the MAF portion from the airbox and the MAF portion from the Weapon R intake.

Buy something like this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=300403859089

Attach the MAF portion from the airbox onto the Weapon R piping.

The only reason I would buy a second airbox is because I might want the unmodofied factory airbox one day.

is the tank the same size in the 300 as the 400?

+1 on the intake and full exhaust

he must be talking kilometres.

I know the newer vvt engines get an improved gas mileage but no way he gets that much.

4-500 ish kilometres per tank is standard i guess if your highway driving--city i get much less.\

(edit) he says miles in the title and his car is from the states originally i think so its in miles not kilometres.

If this is true hes getting by far the best mileage ive ever heard of.

my sc300 na-t driving in 90% city out of boost and 10% highway still out of boost only gets me like 250 miles to the tank...smh... so this has to be in kilometers.... also they say turbo is more economical when it comes to gas when not beaten on my boost cut is at .20
#but then again my car is running hella rich

439.7 miles divided by say 18.5 gallons to fill up = 23.76 mpg, which is likely and very good for the 1uz vvti

I'm lucky to pull 300 miles around town, and maybe, maybe 400 on a road trip with cruise on.

i get 200 ish around town and i use to get 420 on all highway. Mine has rough idle when cold, misfire at WOT and all kinda of stuff, but its intermittent. so i would say your getting great mileage!
