I actually have been trying JDMenginedepot, JDMenginezone and JDMengine world... All three are local to me but they just don't have a soarer rear sump in stock.

I actually went to JDMenginezone yesterday because they assured me they had a rear sump motor in stock.. but all they had was a front sump, 4-row ecu motor and separate r154 with tripod shifter (guess its a chaser??)

Gotta wait until next shipments arrive unless there are some other NY/NJ importers I don't know about that I can try

Ok so let's break it down....

1jz cost? Est power ?with intake, exhaust ,tune, with stock boost

2jz cost? est power? Same stuff.

Better to swap in usdm cams and bigger injectors.

Also which engine is more reliable as a daily driver?

1JZ needs parts browned from the 2JZ or imported from a few different vendors. Examples. The water pump is different on the 1JZ but the 2JZ pump works. The valve cover gaskets are different on the 1JZ and I have no idea if the 2JZ ones work. Maybe someone else can confirm that. Do not get confused I am not saying you cannot get 1JZ parts in America but it isn't as convenient as going to your local dealership. Used part market included. If the stock 2JZ turbos blow they are less than 300 used but 1JZ used turbos almost never appear for sale. For reliability they are the same but for part availability 2JZ is a clear winner.

The engine cooling, oil pan fitment, intake and possibly rear end gear all vary depending on what engine you receive. If your current driveshaft fits into the the 1jz you receive that would be the only "real" cost savings. Else the difference in swap cost lies entirely dependent on what engine you buy.

if u can't see it, dont buy it. a lot of those places u named. do not have what u want.
apparently getting a 1jz soarer 5 speed swap from a True Soarer is hard as hell to find.

i got mine from JDMtechOrlando

most places that have it, have automatic swaps. or say a Chaser Swap is the same as a Soarer. or they have the Supra 1jz with rear sump. but none of the plugs or harness is the same.

if u end up getting it. and they give u the wrong one. be prepared to swap oil pans from your old 2jz and drill holes then pay 400 to 500 bux for DrTweak to make u the correct plug and play harness.

Incorrect. The 1JZ-GTE VVT-i requires the 1995-1997 1UZ-FE sensor. The 2JZ-GTE sensor is different.

JZX100/LS400/GS400 uses a 3" MAFS (22250-50060) and JZA80 uses 3.25" of the same type (22250-46030) smarty pants
