Wink (Im new) Few quick Questions - thank you

Let me first say, I am Supramania - 92tealsupra, Supraforums - Ma70tech. I just traded my '00 S2000 for a '95 SC300 black leather interior southern car, 129K on the chassis, 70K on a stock 1JZ swap that was done perfect. Stock air box radiator shroud etc.

1.) First off, I will be getting a new clutch soon. I have a W58 transmission and I think I am going to keep it for awhile until I get a R-154 in there. Right now what clutch fits this setup? A 93-98 Supra non-turbo clutch? I guess it would make sense but I am checking.

2.) For the transmission I currently have if I do not do a lot do launching how long with the stock HP the 1jz makes can these last?

3.) The Stock ECU which I believe is out of a soarer, how much power and tuning can be done before I need a piggy back or stand alone? It is stock right now and I wouldn't mind making around 400 HP or so. I will need 550CC injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure reg, wide band, new exhaust would help.

3.5) If I get USDM 550CC injectors from a JZA80 ( 93-98 Supra ) do i need a resistor back? And do they fit into the stock fuel rail on the 1jz?

4.) Are the stock difs on the SC300 pretty good, any issues throughout the years? Swapping a different one in will yield better results?

5.) Are there any modding to the 1JZ I should do for higher horsepower, i.e - ARP head studs, head gasket?

6.) What is a safe amount of power to push these stock twins to?

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

If there is anything else anyone can think of please let me know, I am new to this platform. I have swapped (3) 1JZ's into MKIII's supra already, but I am just seeing what options will be best.

Cheers.

If you have already done 3 swaps into MKIII's then why are you asking all of these questions? It's not like it's a completely different animal. The 1J is pretty consistent.

1. You will want to use the MKIV NA clutch

2. W58 should be "Ok" up to the 400hp range if you take decent care of it

3. From my limited knowledge, 400hp should be alright without piggy back. Once you get into the higher ranges the 1J ECU starts to be limited

4. Was your car originally a 5spd or was it swapped? the Auto diff is 4.27 which is pretty tall, most boosted want lower ratios. The preferred swap is MKIV TT diff, or just LSD if you want to tackle that

my car came manual from the factory. So I think these have a LSD, the MKIV TT dif is a complete bolt in?

they do not have LSD, only MKIV TT did and rare few MKIII's (those don't work though). MKIV is a bolt in, but IIRC you need to change something about one of the rear axles.

In short please use search function.

Now because there are so many new members I will attempt to be nice and answer your question.

W58 can last with your current setup with a good clutch. W58 with a great clutch is good for 375tq.

If you have twins no piggy back you are looking at 330hp on a good day(good luck running 550cc without piggy back).

Diff depends on what you are trying to achieve. Look up kaaz, cusco, trd, osgiken, supra tt, many others.

Search bpu and those will be basic upgrades. Intake, exhaust, intercooler, pipes, bov, injectors, boost controller, etc...

Twins can make 400 + if you can find a great tuner (good luck) and they are in great condition (good luck)

What are your plans exactly?

Plans are to have a heathly running 1jz producing around 400 whp. I would like to find a set of hks twins. As far as a piggy back I am not sure what would get yet. What worries me Is I don't have a jza70 ecu j have a soarer so.. Would that mean there is no conversion harness for a aem or something of the sort. I'll get exhaust for it I already have a after market fmic. As for a LSD I'll look into a mkiv Pumpkin. I need to see what 550cc injectors cost and if I should go top feed.

Now that most of your questions are answered I'll start by saying welcome to Club Lexus and always use the "SEARCH" before creating duplicate posts. Just search 1JZ swap and you'll have an evening of reading ahead of you and lots to learn!

With that said you have any pics of your new ride!?
