Next Step.. tranny rebuild
car is at a shop getting a ffim fabbed up so i thought i'd start on my tranny while im not so busy.
got this R154 somewhat apart today putting in a new rebuild kit and all the marlin crawler upgrades!
condition looks really good none of the syncros are deformed in anyway and all gears seem to be in great shape. i was a bit worried when i bought it off some guy for a low price i thought there might of been something wrong with it.
i'll be taking some pics along the way while i rebuild this

damn i didnt take as many pics as i thought i was going to.. lol it was a pain to take the gloves off and pull out the phone to take a snap shot every step.
Whats going in:
forks off:
Oem 1st to 2nd fork vs MC:
then i didnt take any pics of pressing out the gears and replacing the thrust washer n syncros
MC bearing retainer installed:
vs stock retainer oem was very thin in some places and very lightweight:
all ready to go once i get my extended shifter housing n lever:
case sand blasted, cleaned ready to roll:

just glad i didn't have any left over parts ha! it breaks down into like a billion pieces.
the cases came out looking so clean!
The W58 thats on the car right now is filthy looks like the previous owner let the rear main seal leak for awhile before replacing it so theres a good layer of grime...
