its definitely a seized or locking caliper. it happened to me as well. front passenger side and it would shake, changed to ls400 calipers and problem solved.

Update

I didn't have a chance to look at it myself so I dropped it off at pep boys this morning and they said the caliper seized and warped the rotor so he said I need to replace front calipers rotors and other necessities for $644... he said the left is getting there but the right one is bad. He said it looks like the previous owner replaced the pads and didn't resurface the rotors I assume?

And I did notice the day I looked at them that the front wheels weren't spinning freely. I could torque the wheel in the air lol

For a retail shop to replace all the stuff in the front, that is a reasonable estimate... so long as they are including new/reman calipers (both), pads across the front and both rotors, with a brake fluid flush and bleed...

Some will say you can get it done cheaper, and while you can if you purchase and do the work yourself, you probably won't find many retail shops that will do that for a whole lot less...

Yes he said to do it all. My concern is my friend had the same problem and he said he had his rotors milled at oreillys auto so he did not have to replace the rotors. Bc if im going to replace the rotors I should look into the supra or ls400 upgrade if the price is close.

As cheap as rotors are anymore, I haven't worried with resurfacing rotors, I've just replaced...

Unless you are friends with someone at the shop, they probably won't replace with anything that wasn't stock, but you could do it at home just fine...

I'm having the same problem. I am pretty sure it is a stuck piston. Before I go and buy a new caliper. Where is this sliding pin located so I can make sure that is the problem? I have already changed the brake pad and rotor for that wheel, but couldn't find a sliding pin.

I had a similar situation. Do yourself a favor, in the evening when it's dark out, drive it a few miles and park it; get out and look at the rotor, I bet it looks like this:



They aren't that bad to rebuild, and aren't horribly expensive to replace. Good luck!

I'm buying and installing all new calipers, rotors, brake lines, shocks, and getting my wheels balanced again for this same reason.

i just had that problem. for me it was my wheel hub. i changed the complete wheel hub assembly and its all fine now.

There's a common theme with these cars and the front right caliper sticking. Just start looking around and you'll see 99% of them are the front right. I have no idea what would make this happen assumign everything is balanced.

How much is a wheel hub assembly? Just trying to prepare myself in case the vibration wasn't caused by a warped rotor or seized caliper.
