I already have a 97 sc300 with a 1j in there. I was wondering do I have to do the wiring all over again and stuff to drop in the 2jzgte? Is it just as hard dropping it into a stock sc300?

you will have to do the body plug wiring all over again and extend the ECU wiring harness (if using a JDM motor). do you plan to use the existing transmission or are you swapping that out as well?
What chassis is the 2jzgte motor coming from? Aristo? Supra (JDM or USDM)? you will have to swap from front to rear sump oil pan. And most likely change out the driveshaft, unless you keep the existing transmission.

Do a 1.5jz easy cheap and better than a 2j in my opinion. I have a 1.5jz with cams I used na block tt rods and pistons. With oem gasket and arp studs and it's a tank. See you get the strength and tq of the 2j and the higher rev from the 1j all in the same and you can keep all of your wiring and ecu. Just my opinion tho.

The 1JZ head flows approximately 10% worse intake and 14% worse exhaust compared to the 2JZ.
The rev capacity of an engine comes from the stroke and the actual rev limit from the ECU. 2JZ = Longer Stroke = Less Rev Safely.

Ill deff. look into the 1.5jz but I have heard nothing was really dyno proven that it actually works. While on the other hand a 2jzgte engine only is about $1700 and I can prob. sell the 1j for $1000 so I would prob. have it up and running for about $1000 mated to my r154.

I am making high 300's on 1.5 and I was on stock twins ct12. The tq is there and you can do it for like 1k and have a freshly built motor an it is easy as heck. 1.5 will make all the power you need. I don't like buying used engines you never know so that's why I wanted to build mine and do 1.5 at the same time but it's all a matter of opinion.
