SC300 Needle Gauges - Cluster?
I know that SC300/SC400 are notorious for flickering Needle Gauges (all 4). I've bought some Needle Gauge online that was in a used conditions and received it today. I only wanted to replace mines because it started to flicker, the ones I got were quoted on the sales ad that it works 100% and lights up fine. Upon it's arrival, and me installing it in a mere 4 minutes, to my surprised, it also flickers and have some dead spot.
I contacted the seller via email and he's trying to tell me that it's my cluster that's bad and not the Needle Gauges.
I read numerous pages upon the Needle Gauges going out, how to fix them with 2 resistors copper wire and such, but I haven't heard of a cluster going bad that will cause the Needle Gauges to flicker and die off in some spots or completely.
Can someone confirm this? I know my cluster isn't bad, it works fine.

I would remove the needles again and connect them to a 9volt battery and see if they flicker. If they do I would assume they sold you a bad needle. If it doesnt, then I would look closer into the cluster issue. I have one in the classifieds if you need one. PM me for further.

I bought a used speedometer off ebay, it too flickered. BUT what I notice is that they only flicker in the day time, and it night they look great. I have my lights set on auto on the stalk. Its weird, but it has to do with the sensor that adjust our lights from daytime to night time. IS yours flicker in the auto position day and night?

I will have to double check that. I've upgraded my cluster lights to LED from a guide taken off Clublexus site. Since then, I've have my adjuster at the lowest possible level but my LED are still super bright. I couldn't imagine if the adjuster level would be a a potential cost of flickering issue.
I'll check it out this weekend.
