Damn, I though this was something interesting, like EPROM Chipping the ECU.

I think you have to buy the remote and the ECU ROM as a pair.

Ya, I thought you need to buy a key/fob with a matching FCC-ID to your car to get the key to work. When I was looking for a remote for my old '95 (it didnt have one), I was told I had to get this matching FCC-ID. Each key should have this number on it, and it has to match the FCC-ID on your door/alarm/lock (whatever it is) ECU. This ECU can be found underneath the passenger side rear window (behind the inside panel), and it'll have the ID number on it.
Unless its different for the older models?

It is different for the older models. You have to have a ROM to plug into the ECu that matches the remote. It isn;t programmable.
