Default new here, lend me your expertise

ok, so maybe i'm turning from the dark side and getting away from 240's a little, but everyone has to respect a 2j for what it is. i'm buying a sc300 later on today, and eventually it'll be going na-t. but what i want to know is is there a good way to delete the distributor for a factory replacement off the mk4? would i need a mk4 harness, ecu, and everything else? i honestly don't see the point in spending $8000 when i already have a 2j, and could use that money building it instead. any help is appreciated, thanks.
