I really hate these threads... What would you pay?
So I am selling the SC... Time has come and I have bigger and important things to take care of now.
What I have come down to, is people are less willing to spend $$$ on a car with a bunch of mods...
So I will be selling my SC with everything minus the SSR's (replaced with TT wheels), Blitz Nur (stock exhaust replaced), and JIC Seats (stock seat replaced or TT seats)...
So basically here would be the SC in a nut shell..
1992 SC400
135k
1uzfe
Quantum-Auto manual swapped
Supra TT wheels (255/275)
Bilstein Hypercoil Suspension
Supra TT front brakes
E46 HID retrofit
IS300 Steering wheel with Celica Airbag
Avic F700 in dash GPS and Display
Lextech gauge cluster
95% black interior
a lot of maintenance done
Prothane front bushing set
Steering rack bushings
AC works
I am shooting for a solid 6k, does it sound like I am off base?
Thanks

Why wouldn't you leave the exhaust on there if you're leaving all of the other stuff? They sound great.
I think your assumption is right about people paying less for modified cars. That said, I think your estimate of $5-6k is close, but maybe a little on the high side given it is a '92 and has 130k+ miles. It's pretty sad how much our SCs have depreciated.

At least you realized that you'd have to part it some, it's in your best interest to as those parts sell well and you'll get more overall then if you sold it as a whole. Unfortunately people love to low ball in this economy right now regardless what the car is worth. Good luck to you on the sale.

Wow cant believe it. You have one of the best SCs here
I dont think your off point, 6000 is a great starting point of course people will try to negotiate depends how much you want to let it go for, hopefully you get the full amount. Whatever you decide to go with next keep us updated and hope its a great car

Thanks for the words of encouragement... I will still be in the 1uz family if it counts for anything...
I died a bit too. It was a toss up between the Supra and the SC.. and one can get me a decent bit of money where as the other one in its current state cannot.
It sucks... really really does ...

Aww man this is a sad day indeed. I have followed your work since before I became a member, and your projects have been nothing short of exceptional! So I just want to personally thank you for what you do and have done for the CL community. Sad to see you sell her bro, but your to much of a visionary to be leaving the SC world I have a gut feeling you have somthing cooking up. At least I/we hope you do!............. GLWYS
Wish you were in Cali I'd give you 6 for it.

One problem is that you are in SC land. It seems like swapped SCs down that way are cheap and easy to come by, so competition is fierce. Also, (and don't get too upset at me for saying so), more people are looking for 300s than 400s, so that may hurt you a bit as well. Even so, 6k sounds doable to me

You should sell the Supra instead.
I figured you'd get closer to $8,000 or more just because it's a super clean 5-speed SC400. I would buy your car in a heartbeat for $6,000 though. I just need an extra $5,000 first...
