Ok, hopefully this will put this to rest. During my build my entire interior was removed including everything in my trunk. I took it for a test drive after I flushed all my fluids with nothing but my drivers seat, steering wheel and seat belt and between then and now (most of the interior back in the car) the only difference is in a little bit of the handling. With the interior completely gutted, the car was a bit easier to throw around the turns but not much. Really the only way to make a substantial difference is with carbon fiber body parts and completely gut the interior, and anyone who's willing to do that is either a pro drifter or a moron who should have bought a 240. The end.

weight plays into mpgs and some of didnt get lucky and purchase one with purfect seats and such, i think if you have the tan go nuts and yank everything you dont mind parting with

theres no such thing as getting lucky these cars are almost 20 years old, the leather is going to be trashed from daily driving. Mine was ok....for about 2 years then it cracked up bad. I paid to have leather redone. The newer cars here 97+ are still ok with factory leather...but their time will come also. YOu buy an SC for style and for what it is not for MPG..if you want mpg go buy a honda civic HX with CVT auto that gets almost 40mpg and rip interior out of that if you like.

Let's see so far no p/s , a/c. abs. unit, cruise control, hydrofan and replace battery with an odessey rerouted to rear back seats. mild steel ceramic coated v-band flanged with solid motor mounts. custom catback. jic co, 18x10 wheels, pair of bride seats, alum driveshaft , cf hood. missing cf doors and trunk. my goal is to look undercover stock but 1000 lbs. lighter. Havent driven it yet , still under construction.......... HP TQ Style and on go all in 1!

I have swapped complete SC interiors from top to bottom a few times.
You'd have to remove complete headliner and sunroof and weld a panel to cover the hole.
replace the front seats with some lightweight racing seats.
remove the complete carpet and all the insulation and crap.
remove the spare tire, jack and tools (since we call AAA here in Cali)
Easy 300+ pounds lighter but at what sacrifice for In car noise and comfort...
