Monitor in the glove box area?
Anyone ever do anything interesting in their glove box area? Like mount a double din DVD player? Or a custom mount for a small monitor/tv?
I've always wanted to put a laptop in the trunk and run the cable to a monitor in the front and use a small wireless foldable keyboard and wireless trackball, or even mount a trackball in the cup holder somehow. Damn cup holder might as well serve some purpose since it doesn't serve any purpose right now.
I've found a couple monitors that will fit in that area, but I'll probably have to take a small chunk out of the fake wood grain panel above the glove box. That's not really a big issue for me. I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this? Anyone got any unique ideas that can spur me along?

most people that do a computer in the car replace the center radio and run music, stats ect from a screen there in the glove box would be kind of out of the way for the driver to see or do some things

Yea, you're getting at whats called a carPC. I have one. Best thing in the world. I can do anything and everything with it. Got a PC mounted in my trunk, connected to a doubble-din up front (in place of the factory radio).
But if you really want to do something with the glove-box then you should start here: www.mp3car.com. This will give you EVERYTHING you need to know about installing a labtop or whatever type on computer in your car.

Plus if you put a screen in the glove box...that's even further that your eyes have to look over to watch a movie. Most likely resulting in a higher likelihood of getting into an accident. Not to mention of the increased likelihood that a cop will see that and pull you over. You're not allowed to legally have a monitor within view of the driver, that's why navigations have the lockout feature (which can easily by bypassed).
