Default E Brake hot at times

Weired or not, I had to take my eBrake cover off as it started ripping, well I now notice that at times that metal piece on my ebrake gets really hot and other times it does not. When I am driving to work in the morning i noticed it hot, then in the evening when coming home it is not. I use going to work because it is the same distance to an from, it doesn't just happens in the mornings...I just cant pin point why it happens

I guess I am the only one that is having or have had this issue. I feel so lucky to be first

Pretty sure it's just heat soak from the transmission or cats. SC's seem to be known for having warm cabins. I've considered putting some heat shielding material under the carpet around the transmission tunnel.
