Rear Quarter Panel Repair DIY
#3
nice work. our cars are too light in the rear end! they slide like butter in rain. i have slid out just leaving a red light making a turn. this is my second rwd car and i had to get used to taking it real easy in the rain. i cant imagine what an sc is like in snow. not fun would be my guess.

Awesome work bro, I've never seen anyone take this approach to repairing a rear Quarter; normally a shop would insist you remove the entire panel and window to do the repair. I guess they are just trying to pad the bill.
On a side note, I've slid in the rain, I just thought it was because of my old tires; Will an LSD remedy the lousy traction or make it worse?

Nice DIY, this is how most of the SC ends up in the junkyard. Rear panel cost alot to repair, so it is declared total. They should start making rear panel as fender, just replace, save lots of money.

An easy to follow, clearly described and properly photographed DIY. Great read! Sorry to hear about the initial accident, but glad to see that you've got the repairs well underway.
Are you going to cover the repair with black primer until you repaint the entire car? What about the inside of the repair area, did you clean and coat the weld with Chassis-Saver or POR-15 to prevent rusting?
Over all: Thumbs Up!
