Well 2j guys are going to post the fastest time slips and the highest dyno sheets for reasons stated above.
I don't have the sheet anymore but my stock 97sc400 dynoed just under 200 whp which was just about stock other than a home brew intake, Lol very slow car.
The main reason why I am swapping to a gte this winter!

Wow...i guess the thread did go sideways fast. Yet as mentioned each have their pros and cons, Which have been discussed in other threads. Some of the claims made about 1uzfe turbo routing are amazing. Not to troll or point fingers or be a hater but oil and coolant lines are a dime a dozen to tap into, or create. The hot turbo next to a radiatior...someone has never seen a turbo fwd car (OEM). Routing hot pipes and what not around alternators n such etc...all I can say is if you have ever built a motor or know how to turn a wrench then you will learn and know how to properly do things. with time and money anything is possible!
The 1uz is my pick...why. well the UZ family cost a fortune for R&D and has more uses. The 2j is a great motor dont get me wrong but didnt toyota spend like 100million or some ungodly amount of money into R&D for the UZ motor? They are built to last, not to many people out there have blown up a UZ. Heck even before the UZ replacement came out they ran them in 5-800hp NA trims in the baja 1000. I mean if you can have a motor last 1000 miles beating it up all down mexico's roughest terrain it gets my vote.
Anyway im a red blooded american, give me my gas guzzling v8. I ride my motorcycle to save gas...lol
I have a 1uz, plan on doing a built 2uz block or a stroked out 1uz ( 6 bolt mains baby). I did think about the 2j and 1j though. In the end i chose the 1uz due to the potential we ALL know it has. Just gotta figure out how to unleash it and travel down the unbeaten path!

1uz vvt-i gets my vote. The pinnacle of '90s technology, 290 n/a horsepower is more than the stock usdm tt makes, and does so with torquey v8 smoothness.
Stock vs stock it wins hands down.
Now, if I could just find a nice adapter to fit a m90 on it!

Of course, statistically, the 2JZ is going to be 'top dog'. That's kind of a stupid, loaded question considering how much more aftermarket is available for the I6 and much more popular of an engine it is. It would be a more interesting question if the 1UZ was equally as popular, and there was a bigger aftermarket for it here in the Americas.
It seems like this this thread was made with ulterior motive to bring out all the people who just seem to hate the 1UZ for whatever reason.
To those of you that seem to feel the need to relentlessly attack others and their ideas, I ask: why? What's the point? Isn't this supposed to be a community? Some people prefer a different set-up than others. That isn't a big deal.
I still prefer the SC400, and the 1UZ, but that's me.

Two words. Aluminum Block
Scotturnot has been doing this build for half a decade and I haven't seen a dyno chart with cost list.
UZZ-TT sold his kit I believe.
JDMmuscle isn't finished
RedPheonix is selling his car.
KC95SC400 (you forgot about him) got around 400hp before the engine blew and that was on meth
