I know I'm not the quickest by any means, but stock 2JZ on 75 shot dry, high 13s-low 14s.

Have a stock 1UZ vvt-i, so I had to vote that. But I've always wanted a turbo 2J manual..

You should add SC400 manual to the list, even though its not oem a lot of SC400 owners have done the swap.

I have a bit of a biased opinion when it comes to this, although the 2jz is a remarkable engine and is capable of producing massive amounts of horsepower without spending a ton of money, its kind of annoying when that's all you ever see in high performance SC's. The 1uz, in my opinion, has the potential to be equally as great, if not better than the 2jz but lacks the availability of aftermatket parts.
Don't get me wrong though, I still absolutely love the 2jz, even then 1jz and 7m, but I'm just getting really tired of seeing nothing but those engines being modified. That's why scotturnot, uzz-tt, jdmmuscle and redphoenix are some of my favorite users on CL.

I disagree... Its a matter of opinion he asked and thats what he will get. I say a 2JZGTE built right.. This is after extensive reading on here and Lextreme. I also agree about the owners doing something unique and different. My hats go off to you all for taking the time to take pictures, answer pictures, and do the the troubleshooting.

I think that as long as we can keep it civil and respect the fact that everyone here is entitled to their own opinion, this thread could stay running. Its only when people start stating their opinion as though it's fact do threads go south.

It is hard to "compare" the different motors.... Ones a inline 6 and the other a V8. Are we talking stock? Or are we talking about realistic potential? We all know any motor can become some super monster with enough money. So how about give a budget if were talking about the modded route. $3500 seems realistic in my opinion to what the average person throws into a motor application in these cars. So with $3500 what motor is has more potential?

In the US both applications are N/A. While in Japan ones twin turbo and the other is N/A. In regards to the 1jzgte vs the 1uz-fe I say stock for stock the 1jzgte 'wins' just because it already has turbos on it and is probably nice to have.

Now when you talk about modding the motors and swapping things out between them. The 2jzge is a great platform to start with for high power BUT again so is the 1jzgte.

1UZ on the other hand the is not as popular in the states as places overseas like Australia, Thailand, Japan etc where they have a lot more applications using the 1uz. Also trucks use the 1uz all the time that not many on Clublexus ever see. the potential with $3500 goes a long way in the truck world if you guys look around. The VVT-i 1UZ is definitely untouched territory from what I've seen and searched online, not many people have enough money to play with it.

If you were to go all out on the motors I think no doubt the 1uz wins! its bigger... no replacement for displacement.

I vote manual 1UZ personally. All motor is just nice compared to turbo lag on those huge turbo setups. but what do I know, my opinions a bunch of poopy compared to more known members on here!

EDIT: I'll be honest and say I came into this thread without reading the original first post haha
