thats good thinking. i wouldn't expect it to last forever but for an emergency fix, you could not do better imo.
It def a emergency fix. I figured something that is used to beat on should work for about 2-3 weeks. : ) The good news is the mounts are ordered. I am actually testing polyurethane mounts that i got from ultra-Products, they were 170.00 shipped and made for the 89-92 Supra turbo. The measurements I asked for helped me create the mounts you see up there, so if they fit 100% this company could sell them for the SC300/SC400 without redesigning anything.
I told them I would let them know how they fit, but the mounts I made fit 100%, and there is no bad vibrations. The car does have a little less damaging from these since they act like a semi-solid motor mount, but that is fine with me!
oh wow.. my gf was laying next to me when i opened this thread and she said" um shouldnt the engine be secured properly that doesnt look very safe" I LOLED i mean if u feel safe with 2 mallets holding ur engine then okay LOL. LOOKS GOOD THO!

My gf is fine with them lol. I check them twice a day. And also the way they're setup they should last for awhile . My new mounts will be here monday. I'm going to test temps on the mounts soon to see what heat gets transferred to the mounts .
I'm going into automotive engineering so I like knowing how everything works and what load stress is being acted on them .
I pulled my motor and transmission out of my sc300, 1jz with a 5-speed, and put ti back together. Well the stock fluid filled mounts were in bad shape, (1) broke.
only asked because ive never seen aftermarket fluid filled mounts - and the stock ones arent fluid filled. doesnt matter though.. just was wondering if you had an old mkiii or something.
Everyone says there not fluid filled, but they are. I even called Lexus and gave them the part number and it came up for my car so I don't get it -.- I'll crack the other stock mount open and take a pic. It's almost broken
