What's wrong with raising the value of our cars?

I would laugh if someone tried to sell me a swapped motor for higher than one with a bone stock 2JZGE. Sorry, I don't trust just anyones mechanical skills and I sure as hell barely trust anyones electrical skills (after seeing an RB swap 240 here locally, jesus).

You can think I'm crazy all you want but I'd rather have a blank plate to start with rather than someones project.

my thoughts exactly! every single car/truck ive owned i had bought with mods done to it. my integra, my wrx, my 4x4 truck as well as my prerunner ranger, alll modded. i can say when i bought my bone stock sc4 a couple months ago it was really nice to do exactly what i wanted to it, and know im probably the first person to ever even take parts off or touch whatever part of the car im working on.

I don't normally post craigslist link on forums but this one takes the cake:

http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/cto/2455147293.html

2000 SC400 in pristine condition with jaw dropping low mileage.

I could see myself paying 13k or so for that. It's still a 12 year old car, 7k miles or not. Things still rust, become brittle, rot and fall apart if you're driving or not.

As far as the initial ad...no way. I would not even pay 10k for that car. I can find is250/350's with that many miles on them for a few more thousand.

i say drive the prices down. way down so us broke dudes have a chance. that silver 2000 model is insane. lowest miles i have ever seen. now that is worth asking price. i lived in hawaii and its weird being from the mainland and seeing the differences in how cars age over there. the interiors do not crack and become brittle like here because of the consistent temperature. and the rust depends entirely on how close you live to the coast. my bet is that sc is garaged and not a speck of rust anywhere on it. plus you gotta think too that the islands are really small so most cars have unbelievable low mileage. most people who live over there that can afford a lexus like that have mad cash so everything is maintained super well. overall unless its a beach cruiser you can find some mint low mileage rides over there that you would never see here.

Man this is officially the best, cleanest sc specimen ive ever seen.

I would take this car over the most heavilly modded twin turbo, rocket powered, air ride, candy coated sc out there.

Wjat a beautiful thing that is to see great job on finding that add and posting it.

i hear where your coming from i really do, im an ls430 guy myself and for 16999$ i can get myself a fairly low mileage one also.

But to the sc fan this car is definitely worth the price, to someone who has a little money to play with I do not think they would be paying too much at 16999$

Please take into account the rarity of the 99-00 sc400's.

They are next to impossibvle to find.

After reading all these comments, I have to throw my .02 cents in.. I think its all in what the buyer see's in the car and its potential.. Some of us might not want to spend $$$ on other peoples modded cars, but its what the potential buyer wants. Not saying that I would.. I think the problem lies is that too many people on here have gotten really good deals on there SC and they think that ALL SC'S with the same mileage or slightly mods should be the same price. JMO.. I say again, if you can get it, then why not ask it?
