Hey, i have a 92 sc300 Na-t. Im looking for 400whp. Im just wondering what people think of the map ecu2. Also, what would be a good size injector to get if i was only looking for 400-410whp max? I rebuilt the engine and im just looking for something reliable to get it around as a daily driver with low boost. I still have a w58.

the map2 will be fine with some 440cc or 550cc injectors that are top feed. GTE injectors are side fed so they wont work. If you want more then 400whp then swap out the HG and turn up the boost, Maybe a stand alone ECU for the GE or the GTE ecu conversion even better but wiring work is needed for that one.

standalone on a ge setup is the only way it will run safely and consistently. ge ecu has zero reference in lookup maps for timing and proper fuel adjustments in positive pressure aka boost.. you are soley relying on 15year knock sensors to pick up knock and hopefully make minor adjustments quick enough and even then it has very limited range to adjust timing ..
if you go aem from now and you are looking for a solid 400 rwhp daily driver , no need to open motor and swap headgasket .. 10:0:1 compression under the hands of a competent tuner is a cake walk... im at 9:5:1 ish compression and boosting 19psi on pump gas at 600rwhp and we saw zero knock in aem logs

you need at least 440's for 400hp. 550's may be a good idea.
As for headgaket, it would be safest to run a TT one for 400hp on pump gas, or
you could get your car tuned really well (standalone helps), run good gas and keep stock compression, or
you could spray meth on stock compression.
Ali_SC3's NA-T ECU LIST: Best from Top to bottom
< Standalone (where most of us end up) >
< 2JZ-GTE ecu (w/ mk4/sc300 NA harness) >
< 7M-GTE ecu (Typically for MK3) >
< N/A ecu + piggyback (where most of us start) >
< N/A ecu with FPR (oldschool) >
< N/A ecu (good luck) >

I run mapecu with no issues daily driven, albeit only at 350ish rwhp... 550cc injectors and a 255lph fuel pump. Could get to 400 easily with a meth injection kit.
The biggest benefit I see in the MAP ECU setup is that its easy to learn to tune yourself and provides alot of firsthand knowlege about tuning as opposed to reading about it, listening to someone else, etc.
without the meth, a TT headgasket would be almost necessary unless, as lexforlife said, you're gonna drop the cash on AEM etc. also, at much over 400hp I'd prefer to not run mapecu... It does the job but the job could be done better.

I have a tt headgasket, tt pistons, arp head studs with a GE cylinder head. I rebuilt the engine and cylinder head basically to stock and installed a 255 walbro fuel pump. I didnt know that i could run a gte ecu. I was also wondering on what size injectors because i read that the mapecu can only control like 450cc properly. Anything bigger than that is just too much for the parameters of the mapecu. Where can i find more info on using the GTE ecu?

your in luck! i'm running the Map Ecu 2 and also making over 400whp w/ my old 60-1 turbo. everything was running fine for over a year until last month. car started to run really rich at idle and normal driving but i don't think it's b/c of the Map Ecu 2. here's my setup:
Ebay T67 kit
Map Ecu 2 (street tune)
PTE 525cc
Walbro 255
TT head gasket
ARP headstuds
PTE fmic
W58 and Spec stage 3 clutch
