Default Antenna not working with aftermarket head unit??

So somewhere along the lines my car had some hacks working on the radio system and I assume this is why my antenna is inop as my searches have told me that it is somehow tied in to the factory amp which is now bypassed completely so I assume this is where my problem lies?
I did not read about any fix for this in my searches but knowing me the thread was right in my face and I missed it

I think there's a DIY for this, it's in the DIY section by Raine.

I bypassed my factory amp and my antenna still works. Use the wiring harness diagram and it should work

You need to find the green and pink wires behind the unit, and tie both of them together from the antenna out on the unit.. There is a DIY on here in the radio-electronics sections with very good pictures.

Ok thanks!!! One more question, Is there a way to just run 1 (powr ant) wire from the aftermarket harness adapter back to the antenna and have it work that way?

My cd changer and amp are no longer in the car so this is why I ask.
