Default Just bought an SC400, it's dead in a parking lot, need help!

Sorry to beg for help on my first post, but I just bought a 1997 SC400 with 161k miles on it for $3750. I think I overpaid because it's got some issues. It's idling at like 200rpm, and if I let off the gas at a high rpm (while in park) it will drop down then stall. Is there an idle speed adjustment?

The real problem is that when I parked it to get lunch I locked the doors. When I came back out I put the key in the door and the alarm went off. I put the key in the ignition and it stopped, but now the car won't start, and I assume it's related to the alarm (factor?). Any ideas how to get this thing going? Can I order a key FOB on ebay and program it and then disarm it?

Also, are there any good sources for cheap rear bumper covers? This one has a big crack in it. I'm also trying to find a stock cd/tape player, a steering wheel, and the vertical black piece thats on the drivers door.

Look for a disarm button under your dash panels

Maybe when the alarm went off it drained your battery. Does any of the electrical turn on?

After fussing with it all afternoon, I was able get it running. When I unlocked the passenger side door it must have disarmed the car. I guess when I hit the lock button when I got out it armed it, and since I dont have a key fob I wasnt able to actually disarm it.

Does anyone know if I can just buy a key fob on ebay and program it myself?

(Also, there was no disarm button that i could find, and the battery was brand new since I had to put it in at the auction to get the car out of there)

I had a similar problem with my 92sc400. My battery was old and the alt. was not charging it. The car would idle very high when I jumped started it and the trac ,battery, brake, etc. lights would flash . A new alt. and battery solved all.

if you just unlock your door when the alarm goes off it turns off.....

and do you have any CEL due to the idle issue?

Your IAC is dirty for idle issue

Alarm issue is when you lock the doors, it arms the alarm. If you enter the car using the key and it still goes off you've got a connection issue in the door. If you put the key in the ignition it turns off the alarm noise but it engages a starter/fp kill until you get out lock it and unlock it with the key.

Basically, your door lock is not recognizing the key for the alarm.
