Default LEDs in cluster/needle

The last owner painted the tach needle and speedo meter needles so its hard to see how fast i'm going. Could I just use a razor to scratch off the paint or would it damage the needle?

Also there are a few lights that are out on both meters. I know at superbrightleds.com it's their t1.5 are like 1.79 does anybody know an estimate pricing for regular bulbs from the dealership?

Just buy new needles. I know ones from the 2nd gen ES will also fit.

If I where you I'd rather go for the LED's considering the age of our cars, the regular halogen bulbs create heat(even if it's that small) and if you haven't noticed every plastic parts of our cars are already brittle at this time. But for the painted parts, go to a pick-your-parts place and just buy new cluster face and needles, or you can mail your existing needles to OLT(a member here) and he can fix it. Here's my thread about the LED conversion, hope it helps you;
