Question OEM 95 SC400 Lexus-Toyota Starter Part number

Hello,

I am trying to find the part number for my 95 SC400 starter. The Lexus dealership here will not give out the part number and I wanted to call Toyota. Does anyone have it? Or what is the best starter to put in the 400?

No need to buy a new starter - just have yours rebuilt. It's usually the copper contacts that are the issue.

Remember on a V8 replacing the starter is a royal PIA (read the DIY). You will want to make damn sure you have a great working starter since you only want to do this job once! Do it Right...Do it ONCE!

Yes changing the starter was a PITA, but we got it done put everything back and tried to start and nothing! Have a new battery but it wasn't even fully powering the steering wheel. Checked battery and it was only at 78% had it charged hopefully this will work. Ended up getting the starter from Lexus so hopefully that is no longer an issue.

We ended up having to put in a push start. Once we got the starter in and everything back together it wouldn't start..Had to take everything back apart and the starter wasn't getting power from the ignition...So it starts now. the problem now is it's overheating hoping it's because of the fan leaking ATF. Had to purge the system there was not any water getting anywhere.

Glad to here your starting up now. Hey whats your push start look like can you post a pic or two? Did you put it on the console like some of the other members have like this:

And that sucks that another problem arose after fixing the starter. Hope you get it all worked out.

I got one from Pep Boys for right now, but plan on getting this one. I have to order it from Canada that's the only place I can find it.
