depends on how much you are willing to spend on the mods.

your best bet is bfi, some exhuast work, and going with electric fans then probably if you want just strictly performance but you gotta do mantience on the car first

The rather disappointing answer to that is... you can't make noticeable gains in power without either a) a lot of blood, sweat, and tears or b) a lot of money.

The 1UZ is a great engine, however, bolting on a few basic mods will not net you much of a gain at all. Toyota made the 1UZ extremely efficient as it is; you're going to be hard pressed to make worthwhile power through aftermarket.

Nitrous is the easiest and probably the cheapest option. I would strongly consider that before anything else...

Beyond that point, engine swaps, forced induction, and engine building would present themselves but I don't think that's what you're looking for.

tunning and maintence first... if you turbo it .. well you have to fo all the labor ans fabrication otherwise it will be expensive.

Unless you're really good with fabrication, I would recommend you do a 2JZ-GTE swap instead.

Turbo'ing/Supercharging the 1UZ has been done quite a few times but are not as well documented as 2JZ swaps.

A lot of the parts you'll be needing will have to be custom made... if you can't make these parts yourself, be prepared to dish out some quality cash.

On the other hand, 2JZ swaps have been done since the dawn of time so you'll have an easier time doing that instead. You won't need any custom parts and the swap has been documented in DIY fashion quite a few times.

I'm not favoring one engine over the other, just stating a few things which I think are facts. You can't go wrong with either decision though... they're both great motors with a lot of potential.

Think someone asked this question few days ago. Not gonna get much done compared to the 2jz but you could do a bfi, exhaust setup, itb. But it does have some decent power already. Why tune it and then sell it for a bike? Don't waste your money. These cars don't sell for much.
