Default Where did they hide the condenser ?

I have a pretty massive ac leak. On the last recharge I put in a can of r134 with uv dye. It has since leaked down and now I'm searching for the leak, which I can't find. I have checked everything under the hood and there isn't a hint of dye, how can I get inside the dash to check the condenser ? The car is a 95 and came r134 from the factory. Are there any other areas that are prone to leaking I should check ?

No easy way man, you have to remove everything to get to the condenser. Get you a FSM and start digging.

The condenser is by the radiator, the EVAPORATOR is "hidden" inside the cabin.

Evaporators rarely leak - but it does happen. I'd be more inclined to concentrate on the front seal of the compressor, and every o-ring connection - which are all outside the cabin.

What he said is true, I got confused between the two.

evaporator is in the dashboard, remove the glovebox to gain access, best to get a manual.

the condensor is in front of the radiator. if u small freon inside the car, u probably have a leak in the evaporator.

I haven't smelled anything inside the car, there just doesn't seem to be much else to check. The compressor and all of the lines under the hood and inside the bumper look clean. I've used uv dye on my STS and found the leak so I've done this successfully in the past. Is there any way to at least shine a light behind the dash to look for dye without removing everything ?

I suggest u get a freon leak detector, like a sniffer that can find freon gas leaks.

I was kind of wanting to do this for free but it is getting tiresome.

If we are talking about the same thing, it should've came with the shampoo when you bought it. LOL

You'd see it if you remove the plastic cover where the pipes for the AC are sticking out in front of the radiator.
