i always wondered you could prolly get a screwed sc and swap vins and say its converted.. or just say you bought it from some one in the states and was never registered for public roads it was a show car.. dude once the car is here its easy to get er done!
they have insurance for a kit car and such..
BUT WHY all that work just so you can sit on the opposite side? OMG what a head ache! u wont get laid for being rhd.. i wanted to convert mine to rhd and i almost did a buncha times but converting it or getting actual soarer are both pain in the ***. id say convert it.... and i came up with a brilliant easy way to convert it.. when i was gonna do mine. take the interior car harness extend it if need be and flip the harness the other way and just splice things for the rhd car. but remember u need center panel some front clips come with it.. u need the e brake door panels the sun roof switches.. etc..

aside from a fascination with being super jdm cool what are the benefits of the soarer over the sc? as far as know the only real good thing they had was all wheel steering. and the power folding mirrors am i right? so i have often wondered if you can convert an sc to the all wheel steering? cuz that would be pretty sick.... i think... the sc corners like a rowboat with the stock suspension.lol. anyone know if it has been done?

hah i just read the wiki apparently only 832 soarers with the all wheel steering were produced and they are now a collectors item. they also had crazy air ride suspension. this was the v8 soarer. still though i know some crazy cl member will do the all wheel steering one day

I live in Maine, which is right next to The Montreal/QC Area.
When a JDM car hits Canada, it's 5-7 number JDM VIN, gets converted to a conventional 17 digit North American VIN. That was easy.
On top of that, when you drive the car into Maine/USA a short customs check and you are back into the US.
Since my RHD Soarer I just bought from Canada has a 17 number vin, AND is 15-years or older then the Car technically doesn't need a title, although it helps with speeding up the process.
So buying a RHD 1992 Soarer in Maine, is as easy as driving over, and registering it.
6 Weeks later I get a Maine Title that is watermarked and US certified for a "Toyota Soarer". You got to love that.

i have a soarer, and the only thing that REALLY sucks about it, is you can do drive throughs by yourself. and if you get a car wash you gotta get out and type in the code or whatever. and left hand turns from intersections suck, and passing on a single lane highway is a pain this a$$!
