Default auto transmission noise bearing?

just latley i have been getting a noise that is coming from the tans, of my 94 sc300 with 140k. the sound is only there if i am going 45 mph or more, or if i put it in second gear. the noise comes after i take my foot off the petal and start slowing down. if i shift into nuetral or give it some gas the noise goes away. sounds like a brushing or light grinding noise, any ideas?

That sounds about like the classic presentation of a bad transmission mount. Get under there and check it out, its at the crossmember under the transmission tailshaft.

The way the transmission gearing works when you accelerate it puts downward pressure on the crossmember, keeping noises down. When you let off the gas the engine braking effect of slowing down causes the transmission to raise up and pull against the crossmember, sometimes it raises up enough to rub on something which causes the noise.
