Sarah,
That's funny!!!! As if it's just guys that like fast cars!! haha My main reasons for getting the car are the classy looks of the car, the luxurious ride, the quiet interior, and the reliability and overall quality, but the fast acceleration is definitely part of what I'm also looking forward to, and I would be really disappointed if that was missing!

I took one of my friends for a ride and he asked me if it was fast while I was accelerating. You can feel the torque and it feels really cool! The only thing i don't like about my sc400 is the gas D: look forward to spending $80 a week on gas..

If that's the only thing you don't like, that's awesome!! Gas prices do stink these days though... oh well.... I'm so excited about this car. For under 10K, this car by far outweighs all the other options out there.... at least in my opinion!!

Update: I've got my car!!! I am now a very happy owner of a '99 Golden Pearl SC400!!! It's a little slice of heaven, and as my name says, I really am on cloud nine when in this car! I have loved this car for years, and it's really exciting to finally have one of my own. Thank you to all of you who helped me along the way and gave advice!! It was greatly appreciated!! Happy to join the SC400 club.

Okay.... so I'm finally showing some pictures of my new SC!!! I had to make the files really small to attach them, so the quality isn't so great. I plan on doing a little cosmetic work soon, but overall, it's in great shape and I'm loving it!

Wow it looks really great! What kind of cosmetic work are you thinking about doing?

I just realized I never replied to you on the post above. I haven't really been driving sc around lately D: But i did put hids in them and they look fantastic!

Thanks Big Bang!! Good to see you! I'm going to change the emblems to chrome, have a couple dents taken out, a few paint chips fixed, and the door pillar on the driver side has a small patch that needs work. Luckily, I know of a great body shop in the area that doesn't charge and arm and a leg and can get it all done.

I noticed on my car that it has upgraded mufflers (I can still still the original mufflers inside). I don't know if they were added just for looks or what. The engine sounds great when it starts, but I don't know if the mufflers have any effect on that. The engine runs quiet. I really want my car to look original (other than the gold emblems), but I guess the mufflers are okay? Any opinions?

Good to see you too ^^ it's been awhile. I was thinking about debadging my emblems and/or paint them black. Been lazy and busy at the same time lol.

Yeah I like my cars looking clean and original with maybe some simple modifications. Is that an sc400? The mufflers look stock to me. Does the mufflers make it sound any different? IMO I would like an aftermarket exhaust so I can hear the sound of the engine.

I know what you mean about being busy! I "hope" to get my car worked on next week, but we'll see!! Are your emblems gold? I think chrome would look great on your black SC!

It's a 400, and I'm glad the mufflers look stock to you!! I guess they really are a very minor upgrade since they look stock to you, so I think I'll keep them, and they do look nice. My engine has a very nice, low rumble when it first starts.... not sure if it's due to the mufflers or not, but if so, I definitely want to keep them! haha! I love hearing the engine when it starts!!

Yep! My emblems are gold but due to it being so old, the gold layer is starting to come off so it's more like gold/chrome haha. But I thinking about taking off the sc400 emblem so it kind of keeps the people guessing, and leaving the lexus emblems on, and take off the front bumper emblem. I'm still wondering how i am supposed to put back on the emblems if i were to do something to them, but i'm sure it's simple.

Are you sure they aren't brand new stock mufflers? :P You will get a low rumble from stock mufflers too. Even if they were upgraded, I would keep it unless it was obnoxiously loud. I wish my car was a bit louder so I can hear the engine lol.
