Gate

My alternator died so I searched for a good deal on a used one (not even refurbished). Someone has a 96 LS400 that he's parting out and he still has the alternator on his. Will it fit my 92 SC400? If he was close then I would check for myself, but he lives several cities away. I don't want to waste a trip. Any other general thoughts on this situation are strongly appreciated even if they don't directly answer my question.
