ok so don't mean to thread jack.. I was personally going to go the NA-T route mainly cause it is easy and fits the budget better.. UNTIL !!!, a couple of Local SC300's (6) showed up at one of the car meets.. Once I saw how clean the engine bay looked with a 2JZGTE swapped in there, I was like OMFG THATS CLEAN.. and I changed my mind.. even the stock twins set-up was cleaner then our super ugly Y-Pipe and our coliseum of a Distributor lol.. So yeah back on topic.. do what you want, there is plenty of info on here for whatever setup you wanna run

you have to have a Vip platform to be have a vip car, like q45,gs,ls...etc. You cannot call your escort wagon vip...maybe stanced but not vip. Vip came from japan from jap gangstars riding in big black rwd sedans with curtains. Not honda civics or 2 door sports coupes.

As for the 1jz vs 2jz debate yes please do some searching. Nearly every technically informed person will tell you to go 2j because I'm sorry but a higher rev limit being the ONLY advantage is not a good reason to go 1j. Price is comparable these days too.
But seriously this debate needs to be killed with fire, it's been so overdone and there's been some very black and white conclusions drawn.

Again, it still comes down to your own personal goals for your car. For my SC I don't need 500 hp+ since it's my DD and I drive over 100 miles a day to & from work. The 1J vvti makes more sense for me since I am getting better mpg than my NA 2J with far less mileage. It also has around 100hp more than my current motor. If I was building my car to be really fast or if I didn't have such a long commute then I would totally go 2J

Not quite.
Engine displacement is part of the equation the rest is load and gearing.
A 1992 SC300 get's the same mileage as a 1992 SC400. One is a 3 Liter inline six and the other is a 4 Liter vee eight. So how is this possible? The weaker 300 needs to work harder to move the 3500+ vehicle as to compared the more powerful 400. The 400 has a taller differential so it rev's lowers. Net it all out and you're left with two cars that get the same mileage but the 400 is slightly more powerful.
That's the difference between 3L L6 @ 4.27 gearing and a 4L V8 @ 3.92 gearing. What would the difference be between a 2.5L L6 @ 4.08 and a 3L L6 @ 3.77? Very similar I'd assume.

Well considering the gear loading is going to be swapped in my case. Plus the fact that the setup is going to run a good 700-800 cheaper than 2j with less modification = perfect for my situation. I still love the 2J but for what I need, the 1j is simply better $ for $ upgrade from my current SC
And we weren't comparing the SC3 to the SC4, rather the 1j to 2j. Not arguing your points though

Yep displacement can work against you in certain scenarios. There's actually an excellent top gear clip about this very thing. They raced a Toyota Prius around a track and had a Ferrari f430 follow it. The goal was which would use more gas, a Prius flat out or the Ferrari going the same speed but obviously using less of it's horsepower. The Ferrari actually had less fuel consumption than the Prius. Further proving Prius's are gay

although this topic has been beat to death you actually have some good dialogue going...im with you 88supramki 1j vvti is my route although i have a 400 so a little more work for me but like you mine is a daily driver and i have no plans for single turbo's and making tons of power...1j for me is just a little more practical
