Default Should i sell or part out -- Need your thoughts!

so... ive been thinking lately that id like to start a new project and that i may be losing interest in my soarer.

i have put it up for sale and know ill never get back what ive put into it but i was wondering from your experiences am i better off parting out?

i know its more time consuming and alot more work really.. but could it pay off?

my car is a 1991 toyota soarer.. and the main bigger items i think would sell quicker is the:

- 1jz gte
- 5 speed tranny
- vertex body kit
- 97 tails. aftermarket headlights and high beams
- dual exhaust
- black interior
- k sport air ride
- seibon cf hood

etc etc

let me know what you guys think... or what it would be worth just selling?

Store it away, until you regain interest in the soarer.

if you've got time, I'd say part it. you will make more money that way. the down side is your car will be in pieces, sales may be slow, and shipping of large items is a *****

If you want more money back you're going to have to part it out.

You will likely lose money parting it out also... and heres why.

If you sold the whole car for like 10k (just a round number) with no time investment... maybe or maybe not thats worth it to you.

Say you parted the whole car out for 12k... IF you were able to sell a bare shell. Youd do better making it a whole car again and then selling your parts IF you have the stock parts and IF you have the time. Its likely gonna take you something like 200 hours (again, round number) so for the extra 2k you make, you made 10 buck an hour... thats if you got the extra 2k and thats if it took you 200 hours. I would think you likely make more than 10 dollars and hour... so think about that.

Think about it... my time is money. I would take the perceived hit to save the time I would spend doing that to be able to move on to something else. Especially if youre bored with the car... do you really wanna spend the extra time doing all that to MAYBE make more money?

Just keep it, do something else to it that you havent done, take it around a new group of people... or like someone else said, garage it and get something else. Come back to it later and youll still dig it.

part it out, and give me a good deal on the tails

JK, I'd just keep it, the time to part it or find someone to buy it would probably be a pain. And like most cars, you'll never get what you put into it.

zac, if you part i would want the exhaust and tails maybe the headlights (or i can trade you lol), but i say you keep it, you will never get what its worth to you unfortunately.

what i always find fun when i get tired of a car is buying another car thats similar, in this case a supra. i would buy a crappy supra with a blown engine for cheap and use ur car (SC) as a parts car to fix it. i dunno im just saying... i know everyone on here will kill me for saying that but when i get tired of a car i get tired. i could care less if it was a bentley. if u lost interest or even remotely feel close to, its time to move on. my way u wont have to spend unnecessary money on a new project car.

If you have the title in hand, it cost you nothing to keep it.

But it will cost you to part it out.

Sell it as and just hold onto it until someone got the money to buy it.
