How much should I expect to pay for a gte getrag swap?
well..it's been a long five months and This combo will be arriving from japan minus wiring harness and pedals in the next two weeks. What should I expect to pay for the install? I know a bunch of u have done this so please share so I don't get ripped off! Thanks!

Location,Location,Location.....
Different shops have different pricing...so shop around and get pricing for the swap...
their probably going to charge for the wiring harness, and pedal install (manual swap) i assume....plus their labor...
you might wanna tear dwn the engine and build it back up
I assume ur not going single turbo yet so...
Dnt know if your going a FMIC but ur need to add to that...
See no one here can really give u a price cuz it all depends on ur pockets and what u wanna do...
I would guess-t-mate...ur in another 6 - 8 grand in the hole + what ever you paid for the engine...
Moral of the story is: ITs NOt ChEaP
Use the search feat. check out some of the threads of ppl who have done the swap, get some ideas....

Thanks for the heads up! What should I rebuild to achieve 450hp if money was not an issue so I don't pay double labor down the road for something I can do now! I just wanna do it right the first time and enjoy it. I plan on keeping this car forever and giving it to my 9yr old when he's 18. I plan on doing this during winter so I have time to prep this baby!

what is your current platform? SC3 or SC4?
Need a little bit more info.
If "money is no object" then go single right away, that way you don't end up paying for it later. There's lots of info about turbos, sizes, and mechanics of them to help you reach your goal on this forum. Check the Performance/Maintenance sub forum.
so if you go that route, then you'll do single turbo, turbo kit (manifold, pipes, etc), bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, probably should do new ECU(standalone for BEST results), or SAFC (cheaper solution to configure air/fuel ratio), wideband, etc etc etc

Ok it's an SC300. I want at least 450hp. Can this be achieved on stock turbos? If not i'm going single. If someone can give me a list of upgrades and some type of specific order to achieve 450hp. I need a clean install with polished and/or chrome pieces for show

You can get close on stock twins, the JDM ones have ceramic fins to spool up quicker but they also are more delicate. If you want 450, honestly just go single. You will be putting less stress on a decent single turbo than trying to make that on stock twins

If you only want 450 to the wheels, the 2j and v160 are definately the expensive way to go. However, you can get that number with a more streetable turbo setup because of the extra 0.5L (stockers on race gas may do it). As far as rebuilding the motor, not necessary, but while the motor is out it is a good idea to do the water pump, timing belt, etc.

LOL ConsynX! When I was inquiring about your car it was for a friend! I already had my car before I joined CL. Normally yes 2jz and v160 would be the most expensive route..but this was at an unbelievable deal. Still need harnesses and pedals. I will take your advice and do the water pump, timing belt..what else EXACTLY?
