Well I'm going to take a wild guess and say that who ever had that fuel filter serviced before had problems and ended up cutting the fuel lines... not too long I changed my fuel filter and it did not have hose clamps on the ends like how your picture shows.

that wont be a problem will it? i mean the filter is still there, just not the oem one, would that make it out of oem specs or do most filters work the same? and should i just replace it with the same one thats on there or find new lines?

that sure does not look like a stock fuel filter/lines.....it's your car....your call on what to do. If it were me,I would be tracking down stock fuel lines and filter.

Stock? Upgrade Run SS Line, and if you have big plans, get the right size done for that line for now...does it mean that your pump will have to work harder? yup.

That just means your fuel filters got cheaper! You can run a universal filter now. Get a clear one so you can see when it's actually dirty and needs replacing.

hmmmm as for now i really need to change the fuel filter, so ill get a universal one like said above, so i can run better than i am now

but i do want to get the stock fuel lines back, would i be able to source these from a parts store like autozone or pepboys? or would i have to go through like a junkyard because there is no SC in my area, i only know of one and its completely messed up including the fuel lines
not really looking for deal cause that will be expensive

If you want stock fuel lines (or any other parts) to replace your rubber ones why don't you contact Aliga or any of the other venders on this forum that sell salvaged parts? If you want new, you can try the stealership $$$ or try Autozone, Napa, etc etc. On my 1998 SC300 I was able to get a fuel filter from Autozone. It replaced my stock one perfectly. When it comes to gasoline issues you best make sure you are doing the right (safe) thing. Car fires, when your driving or when it's parked in your home are not a pretty thing...so..your car...your call. BTW, when working with hard fuel lines (metal lines) you MUST be very careful with your tools and technique when disconnecting and connecting fuel lines so you don't crimp the lines and/or fittings. Dimes to donuts, the PO screwed up your oem lines/fittings. Good luck on your retro fit.

im gonna put up a universal fuel filter from autozone tonight, ill update how it goes, and im trying to still source the stock ones, ill check with aliga to see if i can get the stock lines. My only concern with this is i dont know what else the previous owner has messed with and how many lines ill need to change or even which lines, from wht i can tell so far is that the previous owner cut the lines and added rubber tubing in along with a slip on filter opposed to the screw on which should be there
most of my metal (steel?) lines are rusting/covered in rust so i may jus go ahead and find all new parts for all the lines
anyone have suggestions on wht lines would be good? and where to get SS lines, i wont be doing any major speed upgrades trying to stay a nice smooth semi-fast stock ride

Aliga will be able to tell you what lines you need in order to get the car back to oem specs if that is your desire. He knows every part of the SC. Just tell him the PO screw up the inlet and outlet line that goes into the stock fuel filter. He'll know which sections you need. Your fuel lines I believe are aluminum and not steel. Regardless, if it is rust it is most likely surface rust (no biggy) and not deep corrosion unless of course you live deep in the rust belt.

If you have the tools and/or can rent them you can pretty much buy few feet of fuel lines and run them along the ones you are replacing, run universal or stock filter.

Get rid of those rubber tubin and hose clamps.
Do the job the right way now and dont worry about it later.

lots of people run aftermarket fuel lines, but just be sure to do it right with quality parts or otherwise go oem. something just seems wrong about worm gear clamps on the fuel line.
