Is this true?
"No, it won't have any effect if you don't switch gears after turning OD off/on or switching between power/normal modes. IE if you're set to normal/OD on while driving, then want to change to power/OD off, you'd need to switch into neutral, then push the power and OD buttons, then switch back to drive for the changes to activate. "

Nope, when you release/press the button, the ecu will send the tranny the new instructions (power/od) right away and then the tranny will adapt right away... (Unless its in the middle of a shift.. then it will wait until its done...)

You can answer that question yourself by trying it out on your SC. I can feel the overdrive difference in under a second, and the ECT difference on my next shift. Shifting to neutral, then pressing OD, then shifting back into drive will eventually kill your torque convertor. Imagine climbing a steep freeway grade at 5000rpm, switching to neutral while your tach drops to 1000rpm, then re-engaging the TC forcing it to neutralize the 4000rpm difference .
